A love of music, liturgy and a desire to sing makes you eligible to join any of our choirs: Adult, Children's, Spanish or Contemporary. We also offer programs by audition (music reading skills required). Choose below for more details.

Senior Choir.
Our Senior Choir is open to any adult with a desire to sing in praise and thanksgiving. Rehearsals are Wednesday evenings from 7:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. This choir sings every Sunday at the 10:30 a.m. Mass and participates in special celebrations throughout the Liturgical Year:

  • Thanksgiving Eve
  • Confirmation
  • Easter Sunday
  • Midnight Mass
  • Easter Vigil
  • Pentecost

Children's Choir.
This choir is for children in grades three (3) through eight (8). Second graders with exceptional reading ability will be considered. The older children help the younger ones, so everyone feels comfortable. The choir uniform is as follows:
Girls-black skirt, white blouse and dress shoes.
Boys-black pants, white shirt, black tie and dress shoes
The choir rehearses Wednesdays from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. and sings approximately once per month. Mass times vary so all of the community can enjoy!

Spanish Choir.
Our Spanish Choir members are adult and Spanish speaking, any of our Spanish community are welcome to join. Rehearsals are Tuesdays from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. This choir sings at the Spanish Mass, Saturday evening and on Holy Days.

Contemporary Ensemble.
This group sings at the Sunday 12:00 noon Mass from May 1st to October 1st. From October 1st to May 1st they sing at the Sunday 6:00 p.m. Mass. Rehearsals are one hour prior to the Mass.

Schola Cantorum.
This choir specializes in music of the 16th and 17th centuries and is by audition only. Music reading is a must and membership in the Senior Choir is required.

Cantors.
The Cantors lead the congregation in song, as well as form a small ensemble in which they sing the Responsorial Psalm at the 10:30 a.m. Mass. Anyone wishing to be a Cantor must be auditioned, must have some music reading skills and must attend Cantor Rehearsal every other Tuesday at 5:00 p.m. Membership in the Senior Choir is not required, but preferred.

Janice R Leach, Director of Music
Biographical Profile


Janice received the Bachelor of Music Degree in Organ Performance and Church Music from Stetson University as an organ student of Paul Jenkins and voice student of Mollie Rich. She continued her studies at the University of Michigan where she received the Master of Music Degree in Organ Performance and Church Music as an organ student of Dr Robert Glasgow and voice student of the well-known oratorio tenor, John McCollum. She has sung as an oratorio soloist with both the Florida Orchestra and the Savannah Orchestra.

Janice has been the Director of Music for Holy Redeemer Catholic Church since 1986. She is also a member of several chamber music groups in the Orlando area. Janice is a regular soloist for the Catholic Television Mass, sponsored by the Catholic Diocese of Orlando.
