Doing God's Work In Today's World

The Council of Catholic Women is a group dedicated to the unification of all women of Holy Redeemer Parish in religious, educational, social and service activities for the Glory of God and to assist the Pastor in spiritual and material undertakings for the welfare of the Parish.

MEMBERSHIP is open to all women 18 years and over who are committed to putting God's words into action through involvement and participation.

THE COUNCIL holds monthly meetings (second Tuesday of each month in the Social Hall at 7:00 p.m.) and sponsors special events throughout the year.
There are many areas in which members can become involved. They are as follows:

• CHURCH COMMISSION. The spiritual needs of the Council members are provided through retreats, days of recollection, etc.
• COMMUITY CNCERNS. This ministry, along with other church and civic groups, responds to the needs of the Parish such as aid for people with long-term illnesses, Meals-On-Wheels, Catholic Charities projects, etc.
• FAMILY CONCERNS. Promoting and supporting informational programs on Christian family living such as parish programs, family retreats, BETA, Respect for Life activities, etc.
• INTERNATIONAL CONCERNS. Bringing awareness to Council members that people are interdependent and have a responsibility to the world community such as Madonna Plan, Sister Diocese, and Help-a-Child.
• LEGISLATION COMMISSION. Brings legislative issues to the attention of Council members and encourages members to be participatory citizens.
• ORGANIAZATION COMMISSION. This area offers supportive service to the Council and other communities such as planning programs for regular meetings, publicizing Council events, coordinating projects involving the general membership, etc.

As you can see, there are many ways in which you can participate in this fine organization.
