Children's RCIA

Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA), with modifications for children, is an adaptation of the traditions of the early Church in bringing new members into the Catholic community. It is a process by which the candidates enter into the Catholic community by entering a step-by-step process toward full membership in the Church.

The Children's RCIA program is open to school aged children from 8-17 years of age, who wishes to explore the Catholic faith but have not completed the reception of the Sacraments of Initiation (Baptism, Confirmation, and Eucharist).

The students receive instruction through the example Jesus gives us in the Gospels…with love, compassion and understanding. Jesus Christ is our model of faith, hope and love.   They   are educated using a Catechism of the Catholic Church-based curriculum approved by the Diocese of Orlando.  Our program is a collaborative 2 year process between parents and catechists in preparing children to be life-long Catholics by deepening their knowledge of the faith and developing a personal spiritual life.  Students must be enrolled in the Holy Redeemer Faith Formation Program at least 1 year before the RCIA process may begin.

Preparing for the sacraments is a lifelong journey of learning, discernment, and prayer.  At Holy Redeemer, we assist you with this process by offering age-appropriate classes for children, teens and adults.
