Holy Communion

WELCOME TO HOLY COMMUNION

Eucharist (Holy Communion) in the Catholic Church is a Sacrament and a Sacrifice and is the source and summit of our Christian life. We believe that the consecrated bread and wine are truly the Body and Blood, Soul and Divinity of our Lord Jesus Christ as given to us through his Apostles at his Last Supper. This is truly the sacrament of love, unity and remembrance.

CHILDREN'S FIRST HOLY COMMUNION (EUCHARIST)

In the Diocese of Orlando, First Communion (Eucharist) preparation is a two-year process for children and consists of two parts: faith formation classes and First Communion workshops:

  • If the child is enrolled in Holy Redeemer Catholic School (HRCS), they will attend faith formation classes through the school.

  • If the child is not enrolled in HRCS, they will attend faith formation classes through the Parish.

  • ALL HRCS and Parish faith formation students will be required to attend workshops and other meetings to complete preparation to receive the sacrament.

The process typically starts in First Grade, with the student receiving First Reconciliation and First Communion in Second Grade.

For more information regarding the First Communion process contact, Maria Falcon at mfalcon@hredeemer.org
