WELCOME CATECHIST
![]() "The definitive aim of catechesis is to put people not only in touch, but also in communion and intimacy, with Jesus Christ". (GDC 80) WHAT IS A CATECHIST?This ministry is a pivotal ministry in the Catholic Church, with its own set of responsibilities in canon (church) law. As any volunteer, catechists are fingerprinted and background checked and they are trained and certified by the parish for their ministry. They are responsible for helping individuals in their growth and development in the faith. This includes, but is not limited to, preparation for the celebration of the sacraments.
The links below offer websites as resources for catechists to use as they develop and improve their curriculum.
